Read through the comments of The Smoking Tires latest one take. I don’t think people get how dynos or wheel power figures work. Pretty much every dyno will read a car differently. Isn’t the rough number for drivetrain loss on a car that has four wheel drive 30%? Factor that in with Matt’s explanation the figures seem low but I see no reason to say that any of them are wrong.

I haven’t seen or read it, but I can say that its VERY dependant on the drivetrain losses. My full time 4wd system east power for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Just do like me and start with less in a fwd vehicle and it’ll work out to be about the same

What dyno were they on? There are so many variables to that crap it’s silly to call bullshit without knowing more. They’re making the same mistake they’re blaming Matt for by doing that.

According to VF Engineering, an AWD Mustang dyno can cause up to 30% loss.

I used to use a mustang dyno and you could manipulate the correction factors to read whatever you want really. Before and after with a qualified acceleration test is what one should really be looking for. The petulant YouTubers crying about a stock number are just dumb

It’s not so much percentage as it is amount of power. An engine making 500 crank and one making 250 crank, connected to the same transmission and differential should theoretically lose the same amount of power, right?

They have no reason to dyno the Raptor in awd, 2wd would give better numbers and ones that are more comparable to numbers put out by their competitors.
